a figure, suspended like a pendulum, teetering on the edge of two opposing forces. On one side, a flickering candle symbolises aspiration and the relentless pursuit of upward growth. On the other, the force of gravity tugs at the neck, embodying the pull of the past and present.

Amidst this delicate balance, the moment of transformation unfolds—the soul is in a state of metamorphosis, akin to the Phoenix in its ashes. It's a pause, a breath held in anticipation of action, a void where potential and destiny intersect. Yet, this state of being is tinged with a self-imposed blindness, a conscious choice to withhold enjoyment of the process, perhaps to fully embrace the necessary discomfort of change.

In essence, "Le Pendu et la Phénix" encapsulates the essence of transition, poised in the liminal space between what was and what will be, embodying the beauty of transformation and the courage to endure it.

CONCRETE

performance

a durational performance—a symbolic figure in a room, struggling with detachment, gravity, communication, self-discovery, and privacy.

Communication emerges as a vital theme, portraying the innate human longing for connection, even within the solitude of four walls.

The performer embarks on a journey of self-intimacy, peeling back layers of the psyche while existing in this isolated realm.

This vivid narrative invites reflection on the human experience within physical or psychological confinement.
